The city encompasses 18 parks covering 651 acres, along with the Wright Brothers Huffman Prairie Bikeway. Park facilities include athletic fields including two sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, walking/jogging paths, fishing ponds, and an amphitheater.  The Atherton Amphitheater brings a variety of artists to the area every Friday for Free-On-Friday concerts. 

Annual Fairborn events include the 25 year tradition of the Sweet Corn Festival and the 4th of July fireworks and parade.  The two day Sweet Corn family oriented event brings over 190 handmade arts and crafts booths and food vendors to the area to enjoy.  Participants enjoy favorites such as steamed cooked sweet corn, pork chop sandwiches, and fresh cut watermelon.
